for my dad

In honor of Father's Day I am going to skip to talking about my dad, David, instead of Chloe (sorry, girl ...you're next).

My dad is the most kind, loving, gentle, smartest and most talented man I know. I am so, so honored to know him and to have the privilege of calling him my father. I cannot express how grateful I am. Having gone nineteen years without a father, and particularly without him, I still somehow cannot fathom life without him. He has taught me so much and helped me to grow so, so much.
He is the best hunter/fisherman there ever was and a true outdoors-man. He is the most talented chef alive, and can come up with the most incredible recipes having never tasted them himself. He has the memory of an elephant (that's a thing, right?) and is the absolute smartest man you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. He has helped so many people and come up with solutions to so many challenges. He has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known and always does the right thing, even when no one is looking. He is truly a good person.
He has gone through so much, and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have him here with us.
I wouldn't trade him for anything. I wouldn't mind going 19 more years without a father if it meant I would end up with him as a dad. There is no man in the world that could do a better job at what he has done. I am a better person because of him.
I truly am the luckiest girl alive. I love you so much, thank you for everything.

Family Pt 1

Hey Everyone! This is Gavin with his Alaskan sized Trout. Suh-weet. I caught one too, but it was like half that size. Hah.
So, this is the official first post in the Meet My Family series. And we are, obviously, starting with Gavin. Mainly because I wanted to post this picture. Obviously the series is not going to be in chronological order or anything like that because Gavin's not even close to the oldest.
Ok anyway, Gavin, Gavin, Gavin....wake up!!
Alrighty, seriously now..Gavin is 16, 17 in July (whoaa) and going to be a Junior in HS next year. He's super athletic just naturally (not fair) and somehow always has a six pack even though he doesn't work out. Hmph. He is learning to be a guitar god and well, he's basically good at everything he does. We all went shooting the other day and of course, Gavin was awesomeee. (So was my MOM!!!)
Humm what else?? He loves those crazy shows like "Mounted in Alaska" hehe (which can be pretty good sometimes. I admit.) Oh, and he desperately wants to shoot a wild BOAR!! To be added to the collection.
I want him to too, but I want to eat it. Haha, wouldn't that just be awesome though? "Yeah, I had boar for dinner last night.."
Kay, not that awesome? Whatever.
He has many unofficial nicknames that his sistas like to call him, Gavvy, Gav Gav, Gavster (?)
And then the slightly more official ones made up by the nickname king himself, David (who is, from here on out, going to be referred to as my dad, because even if its not biological, I don't care, he is my dad to me. (More on that later).) Gavmaster, grillmaster (oh yeah, he's gettin pretty good at grilling, hence the name), cameramaster. Haha etc. Basically Gavin's legit at everything.
The end.
Next family member: Chlo Chlo!

you should have seen it in color"
